Never Fully Dressed , Founder
Coming from market trading parents from the East End, it was natural for Never Fully Dressed (NFD) founder Lucy Aylen to start sewing and customising a small number of samples out of her parent’s attic to sell at Portobello and Spitalfields. Five years later she opened the first store in Buckhurst Hill, Essex. The office is based in nearby Loughton with a great team of 12. With one permanent store, the team love to meet customers at international pop ups, having popped up in Dublin, LA, New York, Barcelona. In 2020 pop ups will appear in Sydney and another in LA!
NFD are conscious of its customer, of community, and the part they play, believing that “our customer is our influencer”. Employing an amazing team of local staff, who have grown with the business, they are increasingly manufacturing more styles in the UK, and those that are made in China, are made by the most beautifully family run factory that NFD has a long and open relationship with. All processes in the chain are ethical and NFD are continuously exploring the use of more sustainable fabrics, with the first viscose range launching in January 2020. NFD have a very personal customer service team, and genuinely want to help every customer that they appreciate so greatly.
NFD have always worked with a charitable connection, whether it be raising money, giving time, or raising awareness. NFD’s famous graphic Ts have been the greatest generator, raising thousands for the likes of Mind, The Big Issue, A1 Campaign, Trekstock and many more, always aiming to use their voice as positively as they can, they can try to make a difference wherever possible.
